My path to becoming a Family Constellations facilitator wasn’t a sprint; it was a marathon—a slow and winding journey that unfolded over nearly two decades. It took 20 years of growth, learning, and self-discovery before I was fully ready to embrace this powerful work. My introduction to Family Constellations came in the early 2000s during graduate school at Central Connecticut State University, where I was studying to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. I remember sitting in one of the campus auditoriums, watching a demonstration that completely shifted my understanding of therapeutic work. The facilitator had a small group of people, and instead of the usual lineup of participants, they even used objects—shoes, if I recall correctly—as representatives in the constellation. This unexpected use of symbols and representatives made the experience even more mystical and surreal.

I was captivated, completely in awe of what I was witnessing. It felt like peering into the invisible web that binds families together across generations. I couldn’t fully understand it at the time, but the experience planted a seed in my heart. This glimpse of Family Constellations left a profound impression on me, and yet, for years afterward, I didn’t pursue training or delve deeper into it. Looking back, I believe this was God/Universe/spirit’s way of giving me a glimpse of what would one day become my life’s work but holding off until I was ready.

In the years following that first encounter, I immersed myself in other forms of energy healing, continually seeking ways to understand and help others in profound, holistic ways. From sound healing to ancestral rituals and everything in between, each modality I studied strengthened my connection to the deeper threads of healing that tie us to our families, our ancestors, and ultimately ourselves. It was only after more than a decade of working in various healing modalities that I felt called to revisit Family Constellations. I realized then that I’d been unknowingly preparing myself to become the kind of grounded, embodied facilitator who could truly hold space for others in these circles. I needed that time to develop the depth, patience, and insight required to witness and guide people through the deep work of Constellations.
